Applying Foundation
- First thing you need to know is your skin type, skin color, skin tone and based on which you choose the nearest foundation color and one that suits your skin type.
- Before applying foundation, test if it suits you by applying a little of it on your jaw line and see if it is going well with your natural skin color of the neck. Don’t test on the wrist insides and on hands as these sure will be darker than your face. Also check how it looks under natural light and under bulbs and tubes.
- Apply moisturizer all over your face and neck
- Blend in the foundation evenly in sweeping upward movements with the help of a cosmetic sponge.
- Make sure you blend the foundation right underneath the jaw line, corners of the mouth and nose, into the hairline, on the ear lobes and under and over the eyes such that the entire face is in a single color without patches and uncovered areas.
- Check if you require a touch up at areas that look patchy, reapply and blend in and now apply powder gently and lightly to set the foundation.
- Apply small spots of liquid foundation all over face and blend in for a smooth finish.
- For a day make up to night make up , dual active powder foundation is ideal ,as the name suggests it acts both as a foundation and a powder.
- Sometimes, mixing two close shades of foundation gets you the best color that matches your skin tone.
- Slightly wet your sponge to create an even finish.
