Fake Eyelashes

Fake eyelashes add that drama to your otherwise plain eyes, making eyes look much fuller with more volume. You could flutter those lovely black lashes of yours with some mischievous pride. These come in many colors and shapes; you could choose the ones that suit you best. A little more excitement could be added to your fake lashes by adding an extra bit of mascara and eye liner, with some practice and patience.

There are two kinds of fake eyelashes-

Full lashes - these lashes cover the entire lash line.
Individual lashes - these single lashes could be filled in between natural lashes that are too thin with small gaps.

Applying Fake Eyelashes

After making up on your mind about the kind of look you desire, start with keeping your eyes clean and clear without any earlier day make-up residue. Go for blacks or deep browns for a natural look.
Once the eyebrows and foundation is done, apply pencil or liquid liner close to the lash line and slightly spread and blend to create a smoky eye affect so that the lash band is not visible.
Check the length of the lashes; they need to blend in with your natural lashes, trim them at the tips slightly to match the length. You could cut them in half and apply only to the outer lashes; this gives a totally different look to your eye.
A little mascara to your natural lashes can add some more volume to your eyes; make sure they dry up before you put on the fake lashes.
Gently apply a little of the adhesive available to the lash band, with a pin or a tooth pick, after say two seconds, press the lash band on your natural lashes from the inner corner of the eye to the outer end, hold them slightly pressing until you feel that they are set and blink once just to make sure that you can easily open your eyes and that no glue is stuck.
You could apply mascara once the fake lashes are set if you want a more dramatic look. This will also blend your natural lashes with the fakes.
Curl them together for the final touch and apply liner if you wish. Have a final look in the mirror just to make sure that you got the look right.
Maintain a proper eye care regime specially if you wear lenses. Gently remove the fake lashes with a tweezer, do not pull at them, clean up the mascara and liner, keep your eyes clean and fresh before you go to sleep, never leave the fake lashes on.
Put them in the cleansing solution until the next day.
Be careful with the glue; follow the instructions on the carton.
